MY STORY

Fitness is a journey, not a destination! Before the easy access to the internet, a variety of TV shows and magazines elevated my curiosity and love for fitness as a teenager. I picked up my first free weights at 13 years old at home and joined a gym while in college. I became a “bodybuilder wannabe” for the next 20 plus years.

In 2011, after working 12 years in the financial services industry, I decided to pursue my passion as a personal trainer. I quickly realized bodybuilding had its limits. I opened my mind and expanded my knowledge in different exercise modalities. Changing my own nutrition and exercise routine was at first challenging but a real eye opener.

In 2014, I watched and cheered for my cousin as he competed in his first Ironman triathlon (1.2 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run). Inspired and motivated by his incredible feat, I signed up and started training for my first Ironman in 2015. I had to learn how to swim and overcome my fear of water. I was new to cycling. I hadn’t ran competitively since high school. It was a demanding and challenging 12 month journey. I proved to myself that you can achieve any goal you set your mind to, commit to, and take action towards every day. Triathlon has been an addiction ever since!
